How it's worked out. Searching: each person spends 2.8 hours a week looking for or gathering information (APQC), over 45 working weeks, at the hourly cost above; kmap saves the share you set. Turnover: replacing someone costs about £30,000, most of it lost output while the new person gets up to speed over about 28 weeks (Oxford Economics, 2014); kmap saves the share you set of that for each person who leaves.

The shares kmap saves are our assumptions, not measurements, and are set low on purpose. The plan price excludes VAT.

Questions about buying

How many people do we pay for?
Everyone in your organisation. If one team in a bigger organisation is buying kmap for itself, everyone in that team. Everyone included can use kmap, so there's no reason to leave anyone out. If you grow into the next size up, we'll ask you to move to it.
Who in our organisation can sign up?
Someone with a verified work email who is authorised to act for the organisation. The first person from your email domain becomes the owner of your company's kmap. Anyone else from the same domain is asked to join it, so an organisation never ends up with two. Team can also be started with a personal email address.
Will our IT team need to be involved?
For connections, yes. Linking SharePoint, OneDrive or Google Drive needs your Microsoft or Google admin's consent, and adding the Slack app follows your Slack admin's rules. Uploading documents doesn't need anyone's consent. Some firms also control which AI tools may connect to outside services, in which case their admin approves kmap once.
Can we try it first?
kmap is in an invite-only beta. The firms helping us test it use it free while they do. Email us if you'd like to be one of them.
What counts as a document?
Each file kmap reads: a PDF, a Word document, a spreadsheet, a page of notes, an email someone sends to kmap. A document that changes still counts once.
Can we change plan or cancel?
Yes, at any time. Moving up takes effect straight away. If you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then your company becomes read-only for 30 days so you can export everything, and then it's deleted.
How do we pay?
By card, monthly or yearly, with a VAT invoice for every payment. Add your VAT number at checkout and it appears on the invoice.
